The SCOTT Erzgebirgs-Bike-Marathon is the oldest mountain bike marathon in Germany hosting this year its 32nd edition. The venue, particulary worldwide renowned for its folk art tradition, is a placid small village with about 2.000 inhabitants close to the Czech Republic border located about an hour away by car from Chemnitz and Dresden.

While in 1993, at the first edition, 214 bikers were at the start and a handful of friends who had traveled with them applauded, in recent years more than 1.000 mountain bikers have come to Seiffen on a regular basis. Already proverbial is the unique atmosphere at the Alp de Wettin" and in the Seiffen Ground - where hundreds of visitors cheer the bikers. A marathon based on one, two or three circuits as well as the great mixture of top-class and mass-sport, sports event and family event; furthermore the long tradition making the brand EBM a mythos among numerous in many ways uniformed competitors.
